He had left the security of a government job to chase a dream of owning a business. Instead of immediate success, he found himself facing bankruptcy, losing his home, watching his car get repossessed, and moving back into his mother's house with his young son.

Most people would have called it failure.
Harold calls it preparation.

During that difficult season, he began working on something that had nothing to do with money. He learned how to speak confidently through Toastmasters. He attended networking events that made him uncomfortable. He wrote down his goals every day. Most importantly, he learned to keep moving even when fear was present.

Then one unexpected phone call changed everything.

A staffing company believed Harold's business was much larger than it actually was and invited him to partner on a government contract worth millions of dollars over several years.

Looking back, Harold believes the greatest lesson wasn't about making money. It was about becoming the person capable of handling the opportunity when it finally arrived.

Many of us want the breakthrough without the preparation.

But sometimes the difficult seasons are building the character we'll need when the opportunity finally comes.

If you'd like to watch the full conversation and hear more real stories about health, purpose, business, and life, join us inside the Good Living Now Community.

Join the community:
https://getyahealthon.circle.so

Shop Harold's wellness products:
www.goodlivingnowshop.com

Subscribe to the Good Living Now Podcast on YouTube for more inspiring conversations that help you live healthier, stronger, and with greater purpose.

35 Weeks Pregnant... It feels like waste, but also like habit. That is just how it has always been done.

But sometimes, the simplest shift can change how you see everyday things.

In this episode, Harold takes something most people overlook and turns it into something useful. Pineapple peels become the base of a warm, flavorful tea with just a few added ingredients like ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.

What stands out is not just the recipe. It is the mindset behind it.

Instead of always looking for something new to buy, sometimes it is about asking what you already have and how you can use it differently. That small shift can change how you approach food, health, and even waste.

The tea itself is simple. Let it simmer, let the flavors come together, and enjoy it however you like. Hot on a quiet morning or chilled later in the day.

It is less about perfection and more about intention.

Ingredients:

1 pineapple peel (from 1 whole pineapple)

1 cinnamon stick

1 teaspoon whole cloves, or to taste

1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced

4 cups water

1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, or to taste)

If you want to explore more simple recipes and wellness tools, visit
www.thegoodlivingnow.com

Subscribe to the podcast
https://youtube.com/@GoodLivingNowPodcast

Join a community focused on real life wellness and everyday change.

What Happens After Cancer No One Talks About

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/what-happens-after-cancer-no-one-talks-about

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/what-happens-after-cancer-no-one-talks-about#comments

Uncategorized

Getting older has a way of changing how you think about your body. When we are young, we often assume that aches, fatigue, and health issues are just a part of aging. That was the belief Harold carried for years. Growing up, he watched people around him talk about high blood pressure, diabetes, and medications as if they were simply part of getting older.

But a health wake up call in his late forties changed that perspective.

It forced him to start asking questions about what he was eating and how his daily habits might be affecting his long term health. At the time, his routine looked like what many people call the standard American diet. Heavy meals, processed foods, and very little thought about how food actually fuels the body.

Instead of trying to change everything overnight, he started making small adjustments. More fruits. More vegetables. Fewer packaged foods. Slowly the routine evolved.

Along the way he also began exploring supplements, learning from herbalists and wellness practitioners about ways people support their health routines. Over time those habits became part of his daily rhythm.

Now, approaching 59, Harold reflects on how different his body feels compared to his late forties. The biggest lesson was not about a single food or supplement. It was about consistency and paying attention to what your body needs.

Aging does not automatically mean decline. Often it simply means learning to take better care of yourself than you did before.

If you want to explore Harold’s wellness tools and supplements, visit
www.thegoodlivingnow.com

Subscribe to the podcast
https://youtube.com/@GoodLivingNowPodcast

Join our community focused on real life wellness and lifestyle transformation.

3 Spring Juices That Are In Season!

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/3-spring-juices-that-are-in-season

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/3-spring-juices-that-are-in-season#comments

Uncategorized

There is something interesting about sharing food or drinks with people in real time. You see their honest reaction before they even have time to think about it.

That was the feeling during this morning show segment. Three juices sat on the table, and the hosts were curious but cautious. One was a berry blend with pomegranate, another featured golden beets, and the last was a bright pineapple refresher.
The funny part was watching the hesitation. Green juices especially tend to make people nervous. There is always that look of curiosity mixed with doubt before the first sip.

But something interesting happened once they tried them.

The berry blend surprised everyone first. The combination of berries and pomegranate gave it a smooth flavor that felt closer to a fruit drink than a traditional vegetable juice. Then came the golden beet juice, which many people avoid because of the strong flavor of regular beets. The golden variety, though, is much milder, and the hosts immediately noticed the difference.
What stood out most was the ginger. It showed up in almost every recipe. Not because it is trendy, but because it adds brightness and depth to fresh juices.

Moments like this remind you that wellness does not have to feel complicated. Sometimes it is simply about experimenting with fresh ingredients and discovering flavors you did not expect to enjoy.

And occasionally, doing it live on television.

Ingredients

Berry Blend
• 1 cup mixed berries
• ½ cup pomegranate seeds
• 1 small piece ginger, about 1 inch
• 1 cup water or coconut water, or to taste

Golden Beet Juice
• 1 golden beet, chopped
• 1 carrot
• 1 small piece ginger, about 1 inch
• 1 cup water, or to taste

Pineapple Refresher
• 1 cup fresh pineapple
• ½ cucumber
• 1 small piece ginger
• 1 cup water or coconut water, or to taste

If you want to learn more about Harold’s wellness approach and tools, visit
www.thegoodlivingnow.com

Subscribe to the podcast
https://youtube.com/@GoodLivingNowPodcast

Join our growing community focused on real life health transformation, faith, and lifestyle change.

My Simple Morning Reset Using Lemon and Cayenne

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/my-simple-morning-reset-using-lemon-and-cayenne

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/my-simple-morning-reset-using-lemon-and-cayenne#comments

Uncategorized

There is something powerful about the first five minutes of your day. Before the emails. A blend of raw honey, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne, and black pepper. It is not presented as a miracle solution. It is simply something he enjoys making and keeping on hand when the weather shifts.

There is something grounding about preparing your own blends in the kitchen. Measuring the ingredients. Mixing them slowly. Storing them in a glass jar. It reminds you that wellness does not always have to be complicated.

The takeaway from this episode is not about ingredients. She was building a life, building a marriage, building a future, and still ended up sitting across from a doctor hearing words she was not ready for.
What stayed with me most was not the medical terminology. It was the loneliness.

She described how the hardest part was not only the physical pain, but the feeling that no one around her truly understood what she was carrying. When you are in it, you can have people around you and still feel isolated. That is what makes these journeys heavier than they need to be.
Then the story turned into something even deeper. A pregnancy marked by fear. A decision point that would shake anyone. A moment in a hospital where life and death felt like they were in the same room. And somehow, through all of it, she kept choosing one more day.

This episode is not about perfection. It is about advocacy. It is about asking better questions. It is about having the courage to say, “I need to understand my options,” and not shrinking back when the room feels intimidating.

If you are trying to reset your health habits this month, start with something simple and structured. The holidays come and go, and even the joy leaves a small reminder that we may have slipped into old habits without noticing. When Harold talks about the 10 day green juice challenge, he is not really talking about juice. He is talking about the moment a person decides they want to feel different.

In the episode, he describes how much of the challenge happens before the first sip of green juice. Preparing your kitchen, cleaning your produce, batch juicing for the next day. These small steps create momentum in a season where many people feel stuck.

He also talks about the first three days, the part no one posts about online. The restless moments, the hunger, the temptation to quit. Hearing someone name those experiences makes them feel less like personal failures and more like a normal part of beginning again.

The most meaningful part of the conversation is not the weight people may lose. It is the moment someone realizes they kept a promise to themselves. That shift does not come from juice. It comes from discipline and the quiet belief that you can start over at any time.
If you are joining the January 9 challenge, this episode will help you prepare and feel supported as you begin. Not the kind of grief that fits neatly into a quote, but the quiet kind that sits at the edge of the table where someone used to be.

Dr. Kimbro describes grief as a kind of sickness of the soul. Not in a shameful way, but as a way to name how disoriented life can feel when someone you love is no longer here. You may withdraw, move through the day on low energy, or feel strangely disconnected from the joy everyone else seems to be posting online.

One moment in their conversation stays with you. He talks about “living forward.” After the loss of his wife, there came a day when he realized that moving toward joy again did not dishonor her. It was not forgetting. It was a way of honoring the life they shared by choosing to keep living his own.
The tools he shares are simple, almost ordinary. A daily check in each morning to ask, “What am I feeling and what do I need today.” A short walk. A familiar psalm spoken out loud. A page in a journal that does not need to impress anyone. Remembering past successes and the times you thought you would not make it, yet somehow did.

If you are carrying loss into this holiday season, you do not have to map out the next three years. It is enough to take today in smaller pieces. Hour by hour. Conversation by conversation. Breath by breath.

Get Dr. Casey Kimbrough's book here:
https://www.amazon.com/Love-Beyond-Loss-Healing-Journey/dp/B0DK87Z4BJ

For practical wellness tools that support your daily routines, you can explore our broader resources at www.thegoodlivingnow.com.

The Holiday Mimosa Mocktail I Make Instead of Drinking

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/the-holiday-mimosa-mocktail-i-make-instead-of-drinking

https://www.thegoodlivingnow.com/watch/the-holiday-mimosa-mocktail-i-make-instead-of-drinking#comments

Uncategorized

During the holidays, most of us gather around tables filled with food, tradition, and family stories that come out only once a year. These moments can be warm and grounding, but they can also come with the old pressure to drink, to indulge, or to “go along with the holiday mood.”
Harold introduces something different in this episode: a drink that lets you stay present and still enjoy the moment.
His blueberry mimosa is simple. Fresh oranges, a handful of blueberries, sparkling water, and a touch of natural sweetness. What makes it stand out is not just the flavor but the intention behind it. It is a drink designed for people who want the celebration without the fog, the clarity without the social pressure, and the taste without compromising how they feel the next morning.
There is something grounding about watching fruit being juiced, watching colors come together, and seeing a drink created from ingredients that still look and feel alive. It reminds you that small choices can support the kind of life you’re trying to build. For some, that life includes alcohol. For others, it does not. But everyone deserves an option that feels special.
The real takeaway from this video is simple: you can honor your body and still participate in the joy of the season. You can lift a glass without losing yourself. And you can choose what aligns with your values without judging anyone else’s path.
Below are the ingredients from the episode if you want to make it at home.
Ingredients:
8 oranges, juiced
2 cups blueberries
1 cup sparkling water, or more to taste
1–2 tablespoons maple syrup, or to taste
Subscribe to the Good Living Now Podcast → https://youtube.com/@GoodLivingNowPodcast
Shop Harold’s supplements → www.thegoodlivingnow.com
Join our wellness community focused on real change, faith, and lifestyle transformation

What No One Told Me About Getting Older: Aging Isn’t the Problem...
